Hi, thank you for the really helpful guide. Is there any way to have a number of different coloured hyperlinks within the same doc?

I didn't have "hyperlinks" show up in the Styles window.

I had tried several sites to figure this out. I had just added some bookmarks and links to those bookmarks in a document we use at home. I did the steps as this blog and several others said, but it wasn't showing me all the Styles. It turns out when I hit "Options" in the bottom right, it popped up a Style Pane Options window. In there, at the top under "Select Styles to show:" it had "recommended" selected. I chose "all styles" ("in use" or "in current document" both do NOT work for whatever reason), then "ok" and then I could do as your article stated. It was odd to me the MS would not include that in recommended styles. After all, I've gone this far in to try and change something -- there's probably a good chance hyperlinks would be something I'd want to see.

I'm extremely impressed with your writing skills and also with the layout on your weblog. Is this a paid theme or did you modify it yourself? Either way keep up the excellent quality writing, it is rare to see a great blog like this one nowadays.. adabkadgcbecgded

OK - took a while to figure out how to disable the FollowedHyperlinks - As stated you click on the little arrow at the top where Styles are. Then click on Options (bottom). From there you have to select which styles are displayed (default is suggested) - change this to all. Close options, and repeat above. Now you can right click on "FollowedHyperlink" - and change it's setting. Then go back into Options, and change "All" back to "suggested". Now both Hyperlinks and Followed Hyperlinks are good.

I have a "home" document and am linking daughter docs into it. So if I have three linked docs and click anywhere in any of them, the text that whole linked doc is highlighted in grey. It's very distracting, because you inevitably click where you are reading, so it's always high-lighted. Is there any way to turn off that highlighting?

does not appear to work in Office 2016

My goal is for hyperlinks to be black with no undlerline. This is possible, but getting FOLLOWED HYPERLINKS to remain black with no underline has been, so far, not possible.

hyperlinks and followed-hyperlinks are different styles. From the “Home” tab, click the small arrow icon in the lower-right corner of the “Styles” box. Alternately, you can use Alt+Ctrl+Shift+S . Select the “Options…” link in the lower-right corner. In the “Select styles to show:” dropdown menu, select “All styles“. You will now have an option for “FollowedHyperlink” in the “Styles” list.

Awesome! Totally worked, thanks :)

This doesn't work. Instructions are dead simple, but the colour of the link doesn't change.

Thanks so much. The direction are clear. I selected my whole document and then was able to carry out the color change for the hyperlinks on all links.
